Acidizing Technical Sheets

A46 Iron Chelating Agent

Hydrochloric acid treatments are used on older producing and injection wells to dissolve precipitated iron and scale from the well bore. Once the iron has been dissolved and the acid spent, the iron will re-precipitate in another location. Many times, this is deeper in the formation.

A60 Iron Stabilizing Agent

Hydrochloric acid treatments are used on older producing and injection wells to dissolve precipitated iron and scale from the well bore. Once the iron has been dissolved and the acid spends, the iron will re-precipitate in another location. Many times, this is deeper in the formation.

Acid Pump

The Illinois Basin has oil wells still in operation since early 1900. Continued maintenance of producing and injection wells is a must to maintain maximum production potential.

Dolomite Soluble Acid (DSA)

Dolomite Soluble Acid (DSA) is an inhibited hydrochloric acid with the addition of Franklin's A51 acid intensifier. This produces a solution that is 0.25% hydrofluoric acid.

Franklin Gelled Acid

Franklin Gelled Acid (FGA) is a high-strength, reactive fluid designed for use in fracture acidizing treatments. FGA design allows for deep penetration into limestone reservoirs. FGA can be used with 15%, 20%, and 28% HCL acids, but it can be also use with Franklin's Dolomite Soluble Acid (DSA).

Paraffin Acid Dispersion (PAD)

As oil wells get older and the bottom hole producing pressure begins to decline, the heavy ends of the oil will start to precipitate in and around the wellbore. Over time, the precipitation will accumulate to the point where it can considerably reduce oil production.

Sandstone Mud Acid (SMA)

Sandstone Mud Acid (SMA) is a mixture of inhibited hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid. The normal mixture for SMA is a 12-3 blend. This is comprised of 12% HCL acid and 3% HF acid. However, stronger or weaker mixes may be used depending on the application.

Silt & Mud Remover Acid (SMR)

Silt & Mud Remover Acid (SMR) is a mixture of inhibited hydrochloric acid solution containing Franklin's clay-suspending agent A57 and chelating agent A46. This combination of agents in acid not only provides good dispersion of drilling mud and formation silts, but also provides unusually effective suspension of the particulates.
